Advocacy: Two projects, important to the economic development of Santa Cruz, will be considered by City government in coming weeks. Key to the success of these projects will be expressions of support for the projects. The Chamber encourages you to attend these meetings or, at a minimum, take a few moments to communicate your support for these projects with the Council and Planning commission. The public is invited to attend an informational session about our featured trip to China.
The session are from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 611 Ocean St., Santa Cruz (inside the University Inn and Conference Center).
China Travel and Trade Mission - Fall 2008
Travel with the Chamber to China! We’ll leave for a nine-day China immersion at a spectacular price:$1,599 – including air fare and ground transportation, first-class hotels, great food, attraction admissions.
Our first mission in February took 450 Santa Cruzans, their friends, and families to Beijing, Shanghai… the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, a Tea plantation, a Silk Factory. Evaluations of the experience by travelers’ were “off-the-charts good”.

This time we’ll add an optional excursion to Xi’an to see the Terra Cotta Warriors. Travelers will again visit the Temple of Heaven, the Summer Palace, the canals of Souzhou and the retreat of Chinese rulers, Hanzhou.
